Masai Mara 3 Days, 2 Nights Safari Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara
Your Safari will start at 7:00 am with pick up from Nairobi City Center with our driver guide. After a short brief you will drive to Masai Mara for approximately 4-5 hours skirting around Mount Suswa. First highlight of the journey is the glimpse of East Africa’s Great Rift Valley. Covering approximately 7000kms, the valley runs from Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in South East Asia. You can take photos and buy souvenirs as you listen to African tales about the formation of the Rift Valley. You’ll arrive at your camp in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive to explore the Masai Mara.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy full-day morning and afternoon game drives with packed lunch. Located 270km southwest from Nairobi, Masai Mara is one of the greatest parks sheltering wildlife in Africa. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). Tourists love visiting the park for its characteristic large numbers of wildlife and birds. The western part of the reserve has an escarpment where a significant large number of animals concentrate.
What amazes me in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift on July and return on November and is among the 7th wonder of the world. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species. Keep your camera ready to capture everything from elephants to gazelles, crocodiles and lions.
Optional Activity: Hot air balloon ride or Maasai village visit!
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Wake up to an early morning Game Drive before breakfast to enjoy watching wildlife in cool early morning. This increases chances of spotting the big cats such as lions, cheetahs and leopards while they are hunting. Return to camp for breakfast then drive back to Nairobi where you will arrive in the afternoon.
