This 3 Day Masai Mara National Reserve Safari is a short safari from Nairobi for travelers who do not have much time for a long safari. The Masai Mara is one of Kenya’s best and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gently rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight.

The Masai Mara is located within the Great Rift Valley in the southern part of Kenya. It is approximately 280 kilometers west from Nairobi City with an estimate of 5 to 6 hours’ drive. The National Reserve is popularly known for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo).

The famous wildebeest migration also takes place at the Mara and is among the 7th wonder of the world.
The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Your Masai Mara Safari will start with pick up from your Hotel or Residence at around 6-8am after breakfast with a brief stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point and a lunch hour, stopover at Narok town at around noon.

You will later proceed with the trip. If you get to Masai Mara national reserve early enough, you could pass by the accommodation facility for refreshments but if time doesn’t allow, you immediately head to the park for a brief game drive.

Masai Mara is a home to different animal species which includes the big five, which you might get to see. In July, August and September, wildebeests migrate from Serengeti to the Mara, which is a very entertaining view.

After the game drive, your guide will take you to your accommodation facility, where dinner is served and night spent.

Day 2: Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will be picked from your lodge or camp at around 7:45am for the day’s game drive. The drive will take you through the landscape of Masai Mara which is savannah grassland on rolling hills.

Masai Mara national park has good extensive road networks which provide a platform to closely view the wild animals. You will view different kinds of wildlife, vegetation and the beautiful landscape.

You will then have a picnic lunch, after which you will be driven back to the lodge or camp, for a cup of coffee or tea. An optional visit to the Masai village is later on availed, which comes at a fee, and can be directly paid for to the Masai Community.

The evening’s dinner is then served and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

A cup of coffee or tea is served at 6:45am in the morning, after which the guide picks you up for a sunrise game drive. Lions are well known for hunting in the morning, and you could be lucky to spot such a scenario.

After the game drive, you head back to the lodge for full breakfast.
You will later depart for Nairobi. Lunch is served enroute at Maai Mahiu town. On arrival, you will be dropped at our hotel, residence or airport.
