12 Days Kenya & Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Naivasha - Elementaita
You’ll be picked up from your hotel after breakfast at 07:30hrs and proceed to Lake Naivasha’s Crescent Island with a brief stopover at the Great Rift Valley View Point. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, you will embark on a boat ride and guided walk at the Crescent. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake found in the great rift valley of Kenya. It has a dense population of animals such as hippos and several species of birds. Crescent Island is home to a number of bird species, which include the fish eagle, herons, crakes, cranes and more. The Island is also home to a number of wildlife that includes zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, Impalas, Kongoni among other animals.
You will have lunch at Lake Naivasha’s Crescent Island Camp before departing for Lake Elementaita arriving in time to catch beautiful sunset and scenery of flamingoes from your lodge which lies on the shores of Lake.

Day 2: Elementaita – Nakuru
Our driver guide will pick you up at 07:00hrs after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at 08:00hrs and proceed with 4-5 hours game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a standpoint and harbor for watching more than 400 species of birds in rift valley. As you visit the lake, game animals are in large numbers. Hippos, buffalos and many species of birds are unstoppable. Flamingos are prominently notable just like in Lake Elementaita. Nakuru National Park is home to few remaining Rhinos in Kenya. The Park also offers great sightseeing of larger predators like the lions and Leopards. Exit the park at 13:00hrs and proceed to your lodge for lunch and later on dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Nakuru - Masai Mara
After breakfast at 07:00hrs, you will drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara National Game Reserve. For approximately 5-6 hours, you will be skirting around Mau-Narok arriving in time for lunch at 13:00hrs followed by check in to your lodge rooms. Later in the afternoon at 15:00hrs, you will embark on a game drive that introduces to this vast game filled reserve. Masai Mara National Reserve is one of Kenya’s best and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary famous for large numbers of wildlife and birds.

Day 4: Full Day Masai Mara National Reserve
On this day you will have an early morning breakfast followed by pick up at 07:00hrs and embark on a full-day game drive with packed lunch. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). What amazes travelers in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift on July and return on November and is among the seventh wonder of the world. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Serengeti
After breakfast at 07:00hrs depart Masai Mara and proceed to the Serengeti in Tanzania with a picnic lunch en route. The drive to Serengeti is via the Isebania Kenya / Tanzania border town. The Serengeti shares the same ecosystem with the Masai Mara game reserve. Ideally, Masai Mara is the smaller extension of the Serengeti. It is well located for game viewing drives together with optional activities including guided nature or bird walks. You will arrive in Serengeti National Park on time for an afternoon introductory game drive while heading to your camp/lodge.

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at 07:00hrs, the guide will pick you up from your camp or lodge and embark on a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park famous for the great migration. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili. This 6,900 sq mile (18,000 sq km) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals. These include more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax or monkeys also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
You’ll have an early breakfast at 6:00 am, thereafter, depart for Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunches. Descend in to the crater floor for the half day crater tour of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on earth. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that from the top looks like steam, flamingoes, a forest and open plains. Later, drive up the steep road out of the crater and transfer to your lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara
You’ll depart after breakfast and drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara for a full-day game drive. Although only 205 sq miles in size, this enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to large numbers of buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas and it has a Hippo Lake, where large numbers of hippos usually gather. Well known for its birds (over 400 different species), Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you’ll be able to see the ground hornbill and the crested eagle. This park has become famous for the tree-climbing lions and the flamingos on the lakeshore.
Return to your lodge around sunset for dinner and overnight stay, enjoy listening to the quiet hum of the wilderness.

Day 9: Lake Manyara - Tarangire
After breakfast at 07:00hrs, you’ll drive to Tarangire arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. After lunch you will embark on an afternoon game drive through Tarangire National Park. The Park is 2850 square kilometers making it the sixth-largest park in Tanzania, offering the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. Tarangire National Park is known for its large herds of elephants which can be viewed at close range. Other animals likely to be seen throughout Tarangire are wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, gazelle, rhino, warthog, impala, python, lion, leopard and over 50 species of birds.

Day 10: Tarangire – Amboseli
On this day you will have an early breakfast and depart for Amboseli National Park at 06:00hrs. The drive takes us through Arusha town. We will proceed to Namanga border town for lunch. After immigration formalities, proceed to Amboseli National Park with a game drive enroute to your lodge. The park has a perfect view of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. Against this magnificent backdrop roams vast herds of elephants accompanied by a mixture of other fabulous beasts like lion, buffalos, cheetahs and giraffes to name but a few.

Day 11: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
After your breakfast at 7:00 am, enjoy the full day in Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Our game drives shall take you to the observation hill to have a better overall view of the park including the adjacent marshy swamps. Wildlife is abundant in this park together with pelicans and other bird species. Most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there are a number of small rocky volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Day 12: Amboseli – Nairobi
Wake up at first light, grab a cup of coffee and leave the lodge at 06:00hrs for an early morning game drive in search of big game. Return to the camp for a full breakfast at 08:00hrs after which you will checkout and leave Amboseli National Park for Nairobi. Depending on your flight time you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your homebound flight.
