Tsavo East National Park
Tsavo East National Park is located 333km from Nairobi city. The park is a habitat to large animals such as red elephants, buffalos, rhino, lions, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk and others.
Over 500species of birds are available in the park as well. Swampy marshes and thorny bushes occupy a large area in the park. It is defined by the more than 300km stretch of a Yatta plateau which gives it a plain-like appearance.
Travelers coming from Nairobi can access the park via Voi gate or via Manyani gate for those coming from Mombasa. The recently launched railway transport cuts between Tsavo East and Tsavo West making it a suitable medium of accessing both parks.
Tsavo West National Park
Many attractions encompass Tsavo West National park. Mountains and hills are available in the park which attracts climbers. Savanna and semi-arid scrub present in the reserve also attract travelers.
Many people visiting the park love the wildlife safaris as they closely view animals while moving through the park. This is where tourists are able to observe the red-skinned elephants and stunning species of birds. In the park, visitors are able to observe Chyulu Hills a distance away from the park.
It is tremendous to see lions sleeping under shades while gorillas and cheetah confidently stroll on roads in front of safari vehicles. You definitely need to arm yourself with a camera to take pictures in the beautiful landscape.
Voi is surrounded by several attractions. It is adjacent to the Tsavo national park. Travelers enter Tsavo Park through gates that are near Voi town. To the south of Voi town are Sangala hills that visitors take please in viewing.
The town has hotels, resorts and lodges where tourists from Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks spend time and take rest. Swahili dishes are also served which some people feat on.
