Diani Beach is a major beach resort on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya. It is located 30 kilometres south of Mombasa, in the nearby Kwale County. It has been voted Africa’s leading beach destination for the fifth time running since 2015.
Adjacent to Diani, is Tiwi Beach. Tiwi beach is to the northern part of Diani beach. It is 17km away from Mombasa town. It’s one of the fantastic view points at the Kenya’s coast. What attracts travelers to the region is resorts with comfortable accommodation and privacy.
Shimba Hills National Reserve
Shimba Hills National Park is situated 33km South West from Mombasa. Its name emerges from the hills rising above the palms along the Kenya’s coastline The park has a characteristic dense periveral forest that harbors different species of wildlife such as leopards, antelopes, elephants, among others.
In the park is the Longo Forest near Giriama point, where herds of buffalos distinctively accumulate. Although the park is small in size, its ability to shelters rare species of animals in Africa such as sable antelopes promotes its identity. More than 600 elephants dominate at the Elephant Hill of the sanctuary.
Other animals within the harbor include waterbucks, velvet, baboon, leopards, bush pig, colobus monkeys, hyena, and warthog among others. Another interesting aspect of the Shimba Hills National Park is the establishment of ocean view point where excursionists stand to observe wildlife and the ocean.
Other viewpoints also exist in the park at designated locations. Visitors also take pleasure in within the park is Shedrick Falls which amusingly falls from the top of cliffs.
